That is MY bike! follows the story of a dogmatic kleptomaniac who reappropriates public resources in hopes to one day create the ultimate bicycle that will free them from their sad reality.

That is MY bike! follows the story of a dogmatic bike thief who steals out of principle as opposed to profit. The bike thief spends their time creating Home Alone, Wallace and Gromit-esque, Rube Goldberg contraptions in search of self-fulfilment in a world pitted against them. They poorly attempt to rob bicycles, resulting in varying levels of strange interactions under a London backdrop. The Bike Thief eventually collects enough parts to build their long term goal: an insane contraption that allows them to time-trial race against janky, homemade animatronics. They have collected all they need in the physical world to create their own, perfect reality. The Bike Thief self-actualizes via the construction of this wacky machine.

That is MY bike! is a cultural trojan horse. How do you create something that avoids commodification? It feels that inevitably, everything of cultural significance will be packaged up and shipped off to those who revel in the aesthetics and cultural contributions of people worse off, without thinking about where their treasures came from. They complain about where their treasures came from. The Few enjoy the fruits of your love, pain and labour from the comfort of their impossible to reach universes that are built on the backs of The Many. And from those impossible to reach universes, they throw stones. So how do you beat the machine? You retaliate by situating yourself in undefinable territory. Align with feralised positions, exist outside of the spectacle. Appropriation could only create a radical, progressive sensibility. That is MY bike! is a poisoned chalice.
